How to Clean Your RV
It is tough to know what you should do to properly maintain your RV, and one of the most important is how to properly clean the exterior of your camper. We have compiled some tips on how to make sure your RV stays looking great! If you want more information or you want to check out our selection of RVs, get in touch with us at our dealership today!
Pressure Washing
Most parts of your RV can be easily washed with a pressure washer. A word of caution though: Pressure washers can be very abrasive on particular materials, and if used improperly, can leave your rig looking worse than before. When pressure washing, keep the nozzle about a foot away from the RV and sweep the spray across your camping vehicle horizontally keeping the stream moving. If you pressure wash up and down, you'll have a tougher time getting all the dirt to rinse off and wind up wasting time and water on a second pass, and by keeping the stream of water moving, you reduce the chance that you'll strip off the paint or decals on your RV.
Cleaning RV Gaskets and Seals
The gaskets around your windows are an important part of your RV, but they're easy to overlook. Pick up a can of silicone-based spray cleaner/protectant to protect your seals from the sun and keep them flexible.
Washing your Wheels
For the most part, you can use standard automotive wheel cleaning products on your RV's rims however there are a few types of wheels, so here are some distinctions in the ways you'll clean them. On painted rims, wash regularly, and for best results wax once a year to help prevent rust. Aluminum wheel covers can be cleaned with standard aluminum cleaning products, no hassle there. If you have chrome rims on your RV, you can use chrome cleaner and a mechanical buffer (or elbow grease) to keep them shiny.
