Spring Camping Tips for RVers
Looking to explore the great outdoors this spring? The best way to do so is from the comfort of your RV! However, spring camping can produce a variety of unique challenges you’ll need to be prepared for. To ensure you’re ready for your spring RV camping trip, read over our helpful tips below.
Rain
Spring is well known for its unexpected storms and sudden downpours. This can be a real issue if you’re out on a hike or walking a nearby nature trail. Before you leave home, be sure to pack plenty of rain gear and a few extra sets of clothing in your RV just to be safe.
Cold Temperatures
While the cold winter temperatures are largely gone by the time spring arrives, nights can still be chilly. To ensure you don’t end up shivering all night, be sure to pack a few sets of warm clothes as well as some heavy blankets. If you’re camping in a region with an especially cold climate, it may be a wise idea to bring along a space heater and insulate your plumbing with towels or even pack a tank heating pad.
Allergies
Despite the inclement weather, plants and flowers are typically in full bloom during the spring season. While beautiful, the increased pollen in the air can upset allergies, and we recommend bringing along some extra allergy medication for you and your passengers.
